¡¡¡¡?On June 25th, the graduation ceremony and degree conferment?ceremony for the Class of 2024 was held in the Student Activity Center of Anning Campus?in Xichang University.

¡¡¡¡Prof.?Zhu Zhanyuan, Party Secretary,?professor Bai Jie,?Deputy Party Secretary?and?President; Yao Yuncheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection; Prof.?Chen Xiaohu, Deputy Party Secretary; Prof.?Qumu Wuge, Prof. Hu Qinglong, Prof. Zhang Wei, Prof.?Yuan Ying,?Members of the Party Standing Committee and Vice Presidents;?Prof.?Shen Liangjie, Member of the Party Standing Committee, Director?of the Publicity?Dep.?and Director?of the United Front Work Dep.; Prof.?Li Si, Member of the Party Standing Committee, Director of the Administration?Dep., Director of the Party Office, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office,?and?all members of the Degree Evaluation Committee and representatives of 2024 graduates?attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Wei.

¡¡¡¡The graduation ceremony was broadcast simultaneously for the first time through the XCU official video channel. 15,000 people watched?it online, and 69,000 people liked it. Some graduates and their families?and friends participated in the whole process and witnessed this important moment together through the?webcast.

¡¡¡¡On behalf of XCU, Bai Jie extended warm congratulations to the 5,324 students who successfully completed their studies and graduated, expressed?sincere thanks to the teachers who had committed to the teaching of these graduates, and paid earnest?respect to the parents who had worked?hard to raise them. She pointed out that in the past four years, they?had?absorbed the nectar of knowledge, tested?their strong will, and cultivated independent thinking, which meant they could discover, analyze and solve problems by themselves. They experienced the battle against?the COVID 19 with one heart and one mind and engaged in the great feat of poverty alleviation under the CPC leadership. They lightened their youth with true patriotism, optimism and dedication and left beautiful chapters in the hall of honor in XCU, who also made noticeable progress in the past four years. She entitled her speech with Flying Far and High to Pursue the Light?to urge the graduates to always follow the light of truth. The graduates, who carried Red genes in their blood, should unwaveringly and ceaselessly go after the truth in their lives. They should enlighten their wisdom to create hopes and undertake tasks. They should have both an ambitious goal and a down-to-earth style of work to courageously fulfill the missions of this time?with their personal dreams embedded in the causes of the Party and the country. They should hold sunshine in their hearts to love their lives. They should become optimistic, innovative, and energetic high-caliber talents to create a better future for the world.

¡¡¡¡Faculty representative Professor Wu Di of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering sent parting wishes to the graduates on behalf of all the faculty. First of all, she congratulated the students on their successful graduation, and reviewed her?teaching experience in the past four years, expressing her ardent hope and the sincere wishes to the students, hoping that they would follow the?pace of the Times, truly understand and firmly establish the lofty ideal?of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. By reciting a saying of the famous Historian Sima Qian ¡°young people should hold?the ambition of a swan to traverse across the world¡±, she encouraged them to brave the storms in their future.

¡¡¡¡Deng Yousheng, majoring in food quality and safety of?the School of Agricultural Sciences, delivered a speech as a graduate representative. He shared his growth and gains?on campus, and said that at this?new starting point, he will?continue to carry forward the XCU motto?of the pursuit of virtues, knowledge, truth and goodness in the process of becoming a youngster?with the characteristic?of the new era¡ªambitious, responsible, resilient, and aspirant. Proud of being a XCU graduate, the graduates will?embrace their future and realize their dreams.
